About Barcode reader
The barcode reader decodes barcodes from an image or a live camera. Drop, paste or choose a photo or screenshot, or start the camera and point it at a product, and the number or text appears with its format, such as EAN-13 or Code 128, ready to copy.
It recognizes common linear barcodes as well as 2D codes like QR and Data Matrix, and it can find up to 20 codes in one image. Decoding uses zxing-wasm inside the page; camera frames are analyzed and discarded without being stored or uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Which barcode formats can it read?
It reads retail barcodes (EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E), industrial formats such as Code 128, Code 39 and ITF, and 2D codes including QR and Data Matrix. Each result shows the detected format, so you can confirm what kind of code it is.
Why is my barcode not detected?
Blur, glare, low light and cropping are the usual causes. Make sure the whole barcode, including the blank margins on both sides, is visible and in focus. Long, thin barcodes read better when the image is wide enough to show each bar clearly.
Can I scan barcodes with my webcam?
Yes. Select Start camera and allow access. The reader checks frames a few times per second and adds each new code it finds to the results list. On phones it prefers the rear camera. Select Stop camera when you are done.
Does it look up product names or prices?
No. The reader shows the value stored in the barcode, such as a 13-digit EAN number. It does not connect to a product database, so search for the number elsewhere if you need the product name.
