About Find and replace
Find and replace applies a replacement throughout the input while keeping the original text visible. Choose literal matching for ordinary words and symbols, ignore case for capitalization variants, or Regex for pattern-based changes.
Literal replacement treats both the search string and replacement text as ordinary text. Regex mode uses JavaScript regular expressions and replacement syntax, which makes capture-group substitutions possible but requires more care.
How to use Find and replace
- Paste or open the source text.
- Enter the search value in Find and the replacement in Replace with.
- Choose Match case, Ignore case or Regex, then inspect Output.
- Copy or download the result only after checking representative changes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace a literal dot or dollar sign?
Yes. Use a literal matching mode. Regex metacharacters are escaped in the search string, and replacement text is inserted literally in those modes.
How do capture-group replacements work?
Select Regex, put capturing parentheses in Find and use a reference such as $1 in Replace with. The browser applies JavaScript’s string replacement rules.
Does an empty Find value delete everything?
No. With no Find value, the tool returns the original input unchanged.
Is my text uploaded or saved?
The tool processes the text in this page, on your device. It does not send the input to a conversion service or save it to an account. Advertising and ordinary website requests are separate from this local text processing. Copy or download any result you want to keep before leaving the tool.
