QR code scanner
Scan QR codes with your webcam or phone camera, or read them from a screenshot or photo. Copy the content or open links safely. Camera video stays on your device.
About QR code scanner
The QR code scanner reads QR codes from your device’s camera or from an image file. Point a webcam or phone camera at a code, or drop, paste or choose a screenshot or photo, and the decoded content appears as text you can copy.
Links are never opened automatically. You see the full address first and decide whether to open it, which protects against misleading codes. Decoding runs in the page with zxing-wasm, and camera frames are analyzed and discarded without being recorded or uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a QR code on my computer screen?
Take a screenshot of the code, then paste it on this page with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V, drop the file onto the drop area, or select Choose image. The code is read from the image, so you do not need a phone.
Why can’t the scanner use my camera?
The browser asks for permission the first time. If access was denied, allow the camera for this site in your browser settings. The camera also needs a secure HTTPS connection. On a device without a camera, you can still scan images.
Is it safe to open links from scanned codes?
The scanner never opens a link by itself. It shows the full address as text so you can check the domain first, and the Open link button appears only for http and https addresses. Be careful with codes on public stickers, which can be placed over genuine ones.
Is camera video recorded or saved?
No. Frames are decoded a few times per second from a downscaled copy and then discarded. Nothing is recorded, stored or uploaded, and the camera turns off when you select Stop camera or leave the page.
Can it read barcodes too?
This scanner looks for QR and Micro QR codes only. To read EAN, UPC, Code 128, Data Matrix and other formats, use the barcode reader, which works the same way with images and the camera.
